Yoko Nitta-Martin BA, Cert. Ed.
Yoko was born in Nagasaki, Japan and has been playing the piano since she was 6 years old.
She studied music in Japan and later at the Guild Hall School of Music with the late Peter
Gellhorn - the distinguished pianist and conductor.
As well as recitals in London, in the last few years she has been
concentrating on tuition and working as an accompanist
to singers and instrumentalists.
She also provides accompaniment for
exams, auditions and concerts.
She has over 30 years
of teaching experience,
including 25 years in England,
and is a member of the Incorporated
Society of Musicians where she is listed as a piano
tutor in the private teacher section. She is also listed as an
accompanist in the British and International Music Year Book.
Yoko specialises in teaching piano technique and lessons will be set up to suit you - for
example playing for pleasure, grade exams or concert performance.
Lessons, provided on Yoko's grand piano, can be of 30, 45 or 60 minutes' duration
according to level and age.
