"Our daughter has had three very enjoyable and constructive years of piano tuition with Yoko Nitta-Martin and has passed her Grade 1 exam. Yoko is kind, patient, encouraging but firm - although B is not going to be a musical whizz, she always went into her weekly sessions with a bright face even at the end of a long school day - a tribute to Yoko's human qualities and teaching skills. We decided that B should now focus on her flute and singing - something had to give, alas. We are most grateful to Yoko for all her skill and kindness, and are sure that what B has learned will not be wasted! She now plays for fun and hopefully will return to lessons soon!"
"We have been really happy with Yoko. She is very compassionate, patient, and incredibly understanding to my child's needs. We are leaving the area and will miss her a great deal. I can strongly recommend her to any parent looking for a relaxed and skilled Piano teacher"
"Yoko has been teaching my daughter since she was five, she has loved her lessons and progressed really well. Yoko is patient, calm and has a great rapport with children."
"Yoko is a great teacher with a calm, kind manner. My 7 year old was focussed during lessons, motivated to practice and enjoyed the tasks which she was asked to do. I would thoroughly recommend Yoko as a piano teacher as she is very professional, knowledgable and able to meet the individual needs of her students"
"I really enjoyed my lessons with Yoko because she is very thorough and looks very carefully at my work and gives me lots of encouragement as well as some positive feedback. She praises me for my strengths and targets my weaknesses."
"My daughter Emi had lessons with Yoko for 4 years and really had fun learning piano in a relaxing atmosphere. The lessons cover a wide range of musical skills and knowledge and she never rushes for exams. As a result, not only Emi's piano skills have improved, but she's learnt to put emotion into her playing. It was sad to leave Yoko due to Emi's hectic school schedule, but we both recommend Yoko to anybody who wants to enjoy piano tremendously"
